Eosinophilic keratitis in catsmiroslav
What is Eosinophilic Keratitis?
Feline eosinophilic keratitis is an autoimmune disease that affects the cornea and surrounding eye tissues.
This condition is characterized by the development of creamy-white deposits on the surface of the eye, which usually causes redness of the eye and discomfort.
Treatment of eosinophilic keratitis is usually performed using immunosuppressive eye drops. Because these eye drops can be harmful to the cat’s eye, all patients must be closely monitored during the treatment. Some cats treated for eosinophilic keratitis may reactivate the eye infection with the herpes virus, which requires the use of antiviral drugs.
