Eye lens surgery
Lens luxation is an emergency condition that can lead to secondary glaucoma and vision loss in 12-24 hours. In this situation, the surgical lens removal will save the vision.
Some breeds of dogs have a hereditary tendency to luxate the lens. In these dogs, luxation occurs primarily and usually in both eyes, but asymmetrically, first, one eye becomes affected, and after some time the other eye. In some dogs, luxation occurs as a result of trauma, inflammation in the eye or glaucoma.
Lens luxation is extremely painful. If not noticed and reacted in time, there are consequential complications that are extremely difficult to control.
