Ambulance for animals

The night emergency service of the veterinary clinic Oculus functions as a humane emergency center. We take complete care of the patient during the night, while in the morning further care of the patient is taken over by your chosen veterinarian.

The Oculus emergency veterinary team is here for you EVERY DAY from 8pm to 8am!

Motivation of our team and commitment to emergency veterinary medicine are important aspects of our ability to solve emergencies and traumas with skill, understanding, and state-of-the-art equipment. We want to be part of your team, someone you can rely on and make sure we take care of your patients when you are unable to.

Oxygen therapy

Controlling the patient’s airways and breathing is vital to his survival. Without airway patency and functional respiration, efforts to help life-threatening patients are in vain.

Intensive care

Our staff is trained to care for patients who require intensive care and supervision, whether it is recovery after surgery, whether it is intensive care after trauma or severe medical conditions. The most common reasons for a patient’s stay in an intensive care unit are trauma, severe acute conditions of various diseases, and after surgical interventions.

Emergency surgery

Our hospital is equipped to provide pets with emergency surgical treatment, and our veterinary staff is trained in the latest surgical techniques.

Most emergencies in animals are treated with medication (drugs and other non-surgical procedures), but there are also certain conditions that require urgent surgical intervention.

Blood transfusion

In emergency veterinary medicine, it is not uncommon for there to be a need for blood transfusion or blood derivatives. In patients who have lost a large amount of blood, whether it is acute external (from wounds, cuts, from natural openings) or internal bleeding (bleeding into body cavities, joints, at the fracture site).

Fluid replacement

The essence of giving fluids intravascularly is to normalize the volume of circulating blood with the aim of establishing normal heart function and delivering oxygen to tissues and cells. If we want to perform fluid therapy in an animal, it is necessary to set up a venous route, and we usually do that with the help of intravenous cannulas.

Ultrasound diagnostics - ultrasound for dogs and cats

The ultrasound diagnostic method is useful in internal medicine, orthopedic, neurological, and many other problems.

When it comes to emergency veterinary medicine, ultrasound of dogs and cats as a diagnostic method is extremely important for determining the existence of diseases that can endanger the life of the patient.

X - ray for dogs and cats - X - ray diagnostics

Radiography is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. Radiological examination of animals can provide very important information that is not visible to the naked eye.

This screening method can be used to assess almost any organ in the body, including the heart, lungs, abdominal organs and bones …

Laboratory analysis and diagnostics

All the necessary analyzes that help us assess the health of your pet, as well as to select the appropriate treatment and therapy, we can do on the spot. That way, your pet will receive timely and adequate care. When it comes to emergency veterinary medicine, laboratory analysis of blood and other body fluids is of great importance to us to assess the degree of endangerment of the animal.

Stabilization of acute infectious conditions

One of the common reasons for an animal to come to the emergency center, but also for a visit to the vet, is the presence of a foreign body. Animals, especially dogs of certain breeds, have a tendency to take in certain inedible and edible objects that can obstruct their passage through the body.

Stabilization of acute endocrine conditions

Success in treating acute endocrine crises, which often occur in emergency veterinary clinics, depends on early identification and treatment of the problem. Many endocrine diseases that occur in animals often do not have specific symptoms and signs.
